The data presented here are biological monitoring points assessed in the execution of the Anne Arundel
County Countywide Biological Monitoring Program (Program). Sites are selected randomly from a
1:100,000 stream coverage used by the Maryland Department of Natural Resources’ Maryland Biological
Stream Survey (MBSS). Methods used by the Program largely mirror MBSS methods, with some
differences. Benthic macroinvertebrates, physiochemical conditions, aquatic habitat conditions, and
geomorphic conditions are assessed at all stations. Fish population assessments and water quality
sampling are performed at some stations. Program details and data reports can be found at the
following URL:

evaluation/biological-monitoring/
The dataset holds all the points sampled by the Countywide Biological Monitoring Program between 2004 and 2019. There was no work between 2014 and 2016. |
