This is the Maryland state designated Sustainable Community Areas for Brooklyn Park, Glen Burnie, and Odenton-Severn. "Sustainable communities" are now taking the place of the community legacy areas, part of the 2010 Smart Green & Growing legislation passed by the state.
Sustainable Community Areas
<DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>The Glen Burnie and Brooklyn Park Sustainable Community Boundaries were created as part of an application to the State for designation as Sustainable Communities per the Sustainable Communities Act of 2010 (HB 475), which consolidated all previously DHCD-designated Community Legacy Areas and Designated Neighborhoods. As part of its application for designation, the County adopted this boundary in Glen Burnie by County Resolution 49-13 and adopted the Brooklyn Park boundary by County Resolution 28-13.</SPAN></P><P><SPAN>Odenton-Severn Sustainable Community. Odenton-Severn Sustainable Community approved by MD DHCD in 2014</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
